Melbourne !!

Tuesday 15th February

It has been a fortnight since I arrived in Australia and it is already time for me to leave Brisbane. For my first trip, I chose to go to the south city of Melbourne before It gets too cold there.
I left Brisbane on Tuesday 15th February with la Gachette, and there we met Juju, Benito and Laulau.

When I arrived in Melbourne, the first thing that shocked me was the trams. In Brisbane (and in most Australian cities,) there are only buses and trains, but in Melbourne you can see trams everywhere!!! I really like those trams because, not only they are useful, but they also give the city a very nice touch!

Moreover Melbourne is a very "european city". By that, i mean that the CBD is a little less impressive than Sydney's but a lot nicer to live in. In Melbourne's CBD big companies' buildings stand alongside with tinier buildings and that sure gives this city quite a charm.

Melbourne's CBD

In Melbourne I was guided by my friends living there, And thanks to them I really had a great time. During these six days we visited a lot of things in this city such as the royal botanic garden, Melbourne park, the CBD, the state library, southbank, the shrine of remembrance and many others (to list them all would take half a day!!!).

Carlton Garden

Melbourne seemed to me like a great place to live in because there are a lot of cultural events, and lots of parks, giving the city a quite resting green atmosphere.

We partied quite a lot (enjoy holidays ain't a crime!). I really liked it, especially one drum & base special event we went to! It was really awesome and I met some very nice people there... Such a great night!!

The CBD again

Among all the things we did, the two I prefered were the Eureka Skydeck, a tower in which we went up at the 88th floor and enjoyed one of australia's most breathtaking views! The second one was the neighbourhood of St. Kilda. Albert park and a very nice beach make this area really special. There we saw penguins and a quite extraordinary sunset, so beautiful!

I hope you are not too tired for reading those lines and if i had to sum this up I would just say:

This city is amazing, this country is amazing! Melbourne, don't you worry, I will be back soon!

CBD by night

Cheers.
